Haelvoet furniture gets a second life

Lorries are loaded and unloaded every day at Haelvoet. A few weeks ago, however, we loaded and shipped a container that deserves a little more attention than the others.

The container for Santiago de Cuba was loaded with 24 beds and 50 bedside tables, all intended to be used in a renovation project of ‘The friends of Cuba’. This Belgian-Cuban association, established in 1969, organises transports to Cuba with second-hand Belgian material for hospitals, elderly homes, maternity homes, and the like.
The Haelvoet beds and bedside tables will go to the Ambrosio Grillo hospital in Santiago, where they will be put in the renovated hospital ward. The official opening of this successful project will take place on 25 July.
With ‘The friends of Cuba’ it was agreed to try to load a container at least once a year. We are happy that we can give our furniture a second life, after more than twenty years of loyal service. That is why we gladly offer our full assistance to their projects.
